A bit late on this one, but I had a pretty busy weekend (two nights, two couples, two dinners to prepare), and I had hundreds of photos from San Diego to sort through and do some color correcting on (it was overcast some of the time). So here is the first grouping. Just some random shots from around Coronado, downtown San Diego, Balboa Park, and La Jolla.

We stayed
here.

We saw sand art (graffiti?) like this all around
Coronado… and I loved all of it.

We ate
here with this view.

We took long walks along the beach every morning.

We saw him in a yard snacking on a hibiscus flower on one of those walks.

A vintage sign the color of the sky.

We ate
here too.

I’ve always liked this type of umbrella.

We saw this
musical trio in Balboa Park.

And waited and watched for a little boy to catch the brass ring.

Then we were awed by the beautiful buildings…

and the multi-colored stones…

and everything in between.

At the waterfront downtown, we entered the land of giants.
Popcorn Chicken, anyone? We had just eaten so we weren't that hungry.

”There’s a port on a western bay and it serves a hundred ships a day…”. This ship was called the
"Star of India".

At the end of a long weekend… a beautiful sunset serves as a wonderful send off on our journey home.
